Permian High School Basketball Player Jerry Joseph

An unforgettable episode of CSI: High School Basketball is underway in Odessa, Texas.

At the ripe age of 16, Jerry Joseph was taking the state’s high school basketball scene by storm. An invite to an amateur tournament in Arkansas was supposed to add more fuel to the recruit’s basketball future.

Thanks to three Florida high school coaches filling their second job as detectives, jail became Joseph’s next campaign stop. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports on how Permian High School’s latest star has now been arrested under a different name: 22-year old Guerdwich Montimere.

This would not be the first time that the amateur limelight was achieved with a little lying. Flash back to the summer of 2001, when Rolando Paulino and Danny Almonte made a baseball gaffe good enough to cause Little League Baseball grief.

Are Montimere and “Joseph” the same person? You be the judge via the Sun-Sentinel‘s photo gallery.
