The latest, greatest allegation to hit America’s police blotter? Pretending to hold a degree.

That’s one of the 20 charges facing 23-year-old Adam Wheeler, who was indicted on Monday on charges he fraudulently paving his way to an admission offer at Harvard. The AP reports that Wheeler’s claims came under greater scrutiny in his attempts to file transfer applications to Yale and Brown.

The Harvard Crimson adds that Wheeler’s alleged wrongdoings became exposed by a professor looking over his senior-year applications for Rhodes and Fulbright Scholarships. His packet consisted of allegedly false items ranging from recommendations, to college transcripts, to courses he had taught.

From lesson plans, to lesson learned.
