Gary Coleman, the diminutive Diff’rent Strokes actor and poster child for the latter-day troubles of kid stars, is hospitalized and remains listed in critical condition in Utah after a head injury from a fall.

ABC News reports that Coleman is on life support and had slipped into a coma.

His wife, Shannon Price, released a statement Thursday confirming Coleman’s illness and seeing prayers for her husband.

But the hospitalization is only the latest in a series of health woes for Coleman. In February, he reportedly suffered a seizure on the set of the TV entertainment news show The Insider. He also was treated in January for a seizure in Los Angeles.

Coleman suffers from a kidney ailment that requires dialysis and has had two kidney transplants. He also known to avoid discussing his health problems publicly, for fear of strain on his acting career.
