Welcome back, Jon. You picked an eventful couple of weeks to be on vacation.
Jon Stewart returned behind the desk of The Daily Show last night and had a lot to catch up on: Israel, North and South Korea and, of course, the spreading oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
“It is now clear that there is an awful lot of oil in our Earth,” Stewart said, “Hey — thank a dinosaur today?”
So began a seven-minute segment blasting BP for the lack of progress during his time off the air. “We’ve been gone 16 days … the only thing they’ve been able to accomplish is a better camera angle,” Stewart said, showing pictures from the spill cam.
