Anybody who thinks mental health and psychiatric medicine can’t have an impact on athletic performance should speak to L.A. Lakers forward Ron Artest, who credits his psychiatrist for his success.

After shouts out to his childhood neighborhood of Queensbridge in Queens, N.Y., and props to his family, he focused on his headshrink: “I definitely want to thank…my psychiatrist, she really helped me relax a lot…”

Think about it, just five years ago, Artest was thought of as the most nutty guy in the NBA, even more bonkers than Dennis Rodman. But maybe relaxation tips from a doctor is enough to make you calm down and hit crucial shots.

Go figure.  Rajon Rondo, it’s time to make an appointment.
