A Pakistani court sentenced five U.S. citizens to jail on Thursday for a conspiracy to carry out acts of terrorism.

The five men, each Muslim men in their 20s, were arrested in the Punjab province and were believed to be joining anti-American forces in Afghanistan. Ahmed Abdullah Minni, Aman Hassan Yemer, Waqar Khan, Farooq and Ramy Zamzam will serve 10 years of labor in prison.

All from Virginia, the men are believed to have made contact with militant organizations over the Internet before traveling to Pakistan under the guise of one of them getting married there.

The case comes on the heels of other cases of radicalized Americans, including that of failed Times Square bomber, Faisal Shahzad, and the two men arrested at New York’s John F. Kennedy airport before leaving the country, allegedly to attend terror training camps. (Via The New York Times)
