Never underestimate the power of tweenage girls. When they want something, such as being noticed by teen idol Justin Bieber, they’ll go to great lengths to get it.
Enter Bieberblasting! Bieberblast as defined by UrbanDictionary is “when a crowd of strange, young, Justin Bieber-obsessed girls decides that they will all purchase the latest Justin Bieber single multiple times until it is on the top of the iTunes chart. They will keep telling people to BIEBERBLAST ITUNES on Twitter until Justin himself retweets them.”
If you take a look at Justin Bieber’s verified Twitter account there actually are retweeted posts from fans who mention Bieberblast. And considering that “Bieberblast Somebody” is as of this moment a trending topic on Twitter in the U.S., and that Bieber just released his single “Somebody to Love Remix” hours ago, it’s a safe assumption that it will soon be climbing the “Top Downloads” list.
Now if only we could get tweens to use their powers for good, not evil – say, towards fixing the oil spill.
