The Hollywood social queen was in town for some world-class soccer, but it appears she may have netted herself some big-league trouble. (Update, 7:15 p.m. EST: The charges against Hilton have reportedly been dropped)

The AP reports that Hilton was detained in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on Friday for marijuana possession. Hilton was on hand for the World Cup quarterfinals match between the Netherlands and Brazil.

A Port Elizabeth police spokeswoman, Brig. Marinda Mills, did not confirm the name of the individual taken into custody by police to the AP. Hilton’s publicist, Dawn Miller, also would not comment until the details from the court hearing were available.

The report was first made by a local radio station in Johannesburg, which cited that Hilton was detained outside the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth, following the Dutch’s 2-1 win over Brazil. A separate unnamed police officer confirmed Hilton’s possession of the illegal substance.

“She was found in possession of some amount of dagga,” the officer told the AP, using the local term for marijuana. “We don’t know how much. It’s a high profile person, only the top cops are dealing with it.”
