Leslie Van Houten, a one-time member of Charles Manson’s infamous ‘family’ is up for parole for the 17th time today, reports ABC.

Van Houten, now 60, was just 19 years old when she helped other Manson followers murder Leno and Rosemary LaBianca in 1969.

Van Houten, who has been described as a “model inmate” by prison staff, has spent much of her time in prison studying for a college degree and working with other inmates.

Debra Tate, the sister of actress Sharon Tate who was murdered by Manson followers the night before the LiBianca murders, has been actively trying to ensure that no one from Manson’s family are released on parole. “These are serial killers,” she said. “These would be domestic terrorists if it was today. So these are very dangerous people.”
