Ridley Scott wants you as a co-director. Yes, you.

The Alien and Gladiator director is teaming up with The Last King of Scotland director, Kevin MacDonald, and YouTube to make a user–created documentary.

The movie, which will premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, will be entirely comprised of footage uploaded by YouTube users on July 24, 2010. To be called Life in A Day, the end product will be feature film length.

Life in A Day is a time capsule that will tell future generations whit it was like to be alive on the 24th of July, 2010,” says MacDonald, who will be editing the best of the contributions.

But that’s not even the best part. Now,what could be better than being a part of history and informing future generations, you ask?

If you’re submission is chosen, you’ll get a co-director credit and could be picked to attend the Sundance festival. Waaaayyy, better!
