Campaign Fail: Florida Rep. Tries, Fails, To Be Down With the Kids

Laugh if you must at this corny campaign video, but the chorus will be stuck in your head for days.

Florida State Rep. Mike, Mike, Mike Weinstein‘s video would totally be hip and fun – if it were the mid-90s. It includes breakdancing, visors and requisite adoring audience members. It stars Weinstein’s son, who goes by stage name Scott Leigh, who also wrote, choreographed and produced the spot. Leigh runs his own entertainment company and specializes in children’s entertainment, which shocks NewsFeed – we would have sworn he was a professional rock star/breakdancer. He told The Daily Caller:

“Republicans are getting a bad rap, that they can’t reach the young people. There is a disconnect. What I wanted to do was make it accessible and music is a great way.”

Forgive us if we’re wrong, but young people breakdancing interspersed with photos of Weinstein probably won’t get the kids rushing to the polls. Now maybe if Weinstein danced himself, it would be a different story. Sequel, anyone? (Please, don’t make a sequel.)
