As part of an advertising stunt for a private beach in Russia, some resourceful businessmen decided to use a parasailing donkey to attract attention. Right, because animal cruelty just screams “ fun day at the beach.” (via BBC)

The Taman newspaper reported that despite the pervasiveness of animal cruelty in Russia, the scene horrified locals. According to the BBC, witnesses reported that the donkey was “screaming in fear” and that nearby children were so upset they cried.

“The donkey landed in an atrocious manner: it was dragged several meters along the water, after which the animal was pulled out half-alive onto the shore,” reports the paper.

Apparently, the entrepreneurs responsible could face charges of animal cruelty, which makes sense. After all, everyone knows donkeys shouldn’t be parasailing; they should be fighting with the army like monkeys, dolphins and elephants.
