Think twice before attempting to get your hands on someone else’s student loan records — especially those of the current U.S. president.

The AP reports that two former workers for a U.S. Department of Education contractor in Iowa have turned in guilty pleas toward charges of illegally viewing Barack Obama’s loan records. Julie Kline of Ainsworth, Iowa and Gary Grenell of Iowa City, Iowa each face up to one year in prison and $100,000 apiece in fines for the transgressions.

Back on May 12, The Des Moines Register reported that nine employees of that same Iowa firm were indicted for charges of tapping into Obama’s loan records between March 2007 and July 2009. Before Friday’s pair turned in their pleas, three others involved had already answered as guilty. The remaining four in the group are still slated to go on trial.
