Tina Fey’s Awkward Nineties Commercial

Even TV stars had awkward phases in the nineties. Tina Fey is proof.

In this 1995 commercial for Mutual Savings Bank, the comedy star gets the full ’90s treatment, including floral vest, button-down shirt and terrible haircut. Her nervous attitude and frumpy attire are a far cry from her current self, who even posed on the cover of Vogue. The ad is eerily reminiscent of her 30 Rock character, Liz Lemon, who has her own embarrassing commercial in her past. (Gawker, via Best Week Ever)
