For the second time in less than a month, an American has been charged with terrorism after attempting to join al-Qaeda groups in Somalia.

Shaker Masri, from Chicago, was charged on Tuesday evening with “attempting to aid a terrorist organization and use a weapon of mass destruction outside the United States,” according to the Associated Press. Apparently, Masri, 26, was busted after he told an FBI informant of his plans to go to Somalia to become a suicide bomber.

In July, NewsFeed reported that Zachary Chesser from Virginia was arrested as he was attempting to board a flight to Uganda, where it was believed he was going to join a Somali terror group connected with al-Qaeda.
