The Other Guys, starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, took in $34.6 million during its first weekend, marking somewhat of a comeback for Ferrell after a series of disappointments. After three weeks of dominance, Christopher Nolan’s Inception is still doing well, having taken in $277 million in the U.S. alone. Newcomer Step Up 3D took in a dismal $15.5 million, despite high 3-D ticket prices.

TIME’s Richard Corliss says The Other Guys is nothing groundbreaking, but it’s certainly fun, writing:

“Like some silly summer song that can’t be shaken from the mind, this is a catchy enterprise, no better than it tries to be and no less funny.”
