Looking for love? This site promises to keep things pure – and maybe even simple.
A new site to the online dating landscape is advertising its matching services exclusively for virgins. YouAndMeArePure.com, an aspiring Match.com of the virtual, virginal Internet dating scene, boasts itself as the place for virgins to connect.
Created by husband and wife, Lety and Jose Colin, YouAndMeArePure states its intent as a tool for singles who value purity when searching for a relationship, but there’s a strict “virgins only” policy. “Any visitor to our website who is not a virgin but is intimately abstaining, consider joining http://www.youandiabstain.com. All other non-virgin visitors are welcome to invite their close virgin friends and/or relatives to join our site.” Yeah, these guys mean business. Memberships are free, and the site promises that only other members (a.k.a. virgins) will have access to your profile, though the authenticity of users could be a mystery – the Colins’ sternly worded “V’s only!” warnings aside.
The site also features a small online store where users can purchase physical V-cards as “proof” of their purity. The “card-carrying virgin” idea may be a novelty, but YouAndMeArePure cites it will stick true to its “pure until marriage” ethos. “Some people may overlook the bonding power of virginity. Virginity as an important common aspect between people can lead to close friendships,or can even serve as a mutual precious gift of marriage. This bonding power is something that cannot be purchased with all the money in the world.”
