Once the center of the New Jersey Nets’ lineup, the 6-foot-11 giant continues to be lodged in legal trouble.
The AP reports that Jayson Williams has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DWI charge, stemming from a Jan. 5 incident where his car crashed into a tree in New York. Prosecutors report that his BAC level was more than double the legal limit.
Williams’ 2010 wreck came days after his criminal résumé grew lengthier, via a guilty plea to aggravated assault charges in killing a New Jersey limo driver. This new conviction will add one year to the five-year sentence he already incurred for that limo incident.
