After a media firestorm about out-of-context comments she made in an address to the NAACP forced her to resign, Shirley Sherrod has turned down a new job offer at the Department of Agriculture.

Sherrod met this morning with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. Though she declined a full-time position, she said she would still work for them in a consulting capacity, according to the Associated Press. She had told CNN she was offered the position of Deputy Director of Advocacy and Outreach, working to improve the department’s image.

No word on the progress of her suit against blogger Andrew Breitbart, who first took the clips out of context, but we don’t expect Sherrod’s name to leave headlines any time soon.
