TV Tax Lady Roni Deutch Facing Legal Troubles

As a self-touted sidekick for Americans facing IRS heat, the on-air personality promises to find the “hidden deductions” plaguing your tax payments.

But in the eyes of California’s attorney general, Roni Deutch’s tax talk isn’t providing enough walk for consumers. The AP reports that Deutch is facing a state suit from Jerry Brown for $34 million, alleging that Deutch exaggerates her abilities to top the IRS in tax messes. The AP attempted to contact Deutch’s camp by phone, but its calls were directed to her attorney, Alexander Collins, who has yet to return the wire service’s message. In the meantime, take a trip into Deutchland by watching one of her high-profile ads.
