So much for it lasting up to a month.

The Internet went crazy over reports of a nine-day traffic jam that spanned two provinces in China. But when an NBC News reporter went to check it out, any signs of a traffic jam were gone.  It seems authorities were able to clear the jam practically overnight. NBC’s report notes that police came out in full force, manning everything from toll booths to entrance ramps to clear the highway.

Now Beijing drivers can go back to the only slightly less crippling traffic they face every day. Well, that is, until the road repairs — the ones that caused the jam in the first place — get started again.
