The past year has been a whirlwind for reality TV star singing sensation Susan Boyle. But only now have her dreams finally been realized.

It’s been announced that SuBo is to sing in front of the Pope during his four-day state visit to the U.K., which starts in Scotland on September 16. Speaking from her home, the 2009 Britain’s Got Talent runner-up said: “To be able to sing for the Pope is a great honor and something I’ve always dreamed of – it’s indescribable. I’ve always wanted to sing for his Holiness and I can’t really put into words my happiness, that this wish has come true at last.”

Not just a flash-in-the-pan YouTube darling, Boyle’s debut album I Dreamed a Dream sold nine million copies in the first six weeks of release around the world. Her debut single (the eponymous title track, which was a cover from Les Misérables) was a chart topper and she recently predicted in an interview that she would be worth $24 million by next year. Boyle does not lack for ambition.

Nor does she lack faith. The Scottish singer is a devout Roman Catholic and will join an 800-strong choir and perform to tens of thousands of worshipers – as well as the Pope – at an open-air Mass in Glasgow. Naturally, she’s lined up to sing her signature song and it looks like the dream she dreamed has finally come true. (via BBC)
