A new species of dinosaur hailing from the Cretaceous period has been discovered in Europe. The species, called Concavenator corcovatus which means “the hunchback hunter from Cuenca,” was approximately 20-feet-long, with feather-like spikes on its arms. Its most distinguishing feature however was its hunched back, which researchers say may have “supported a mound of fleshy tissue storing fat, as on a camel.”
The National Geographic also reports that though the dinosaur had feathers, chances are it couldn’t fly as it would have weighed approximately one ton. For more on the hunchback dino, check out the National Geographic article.
