This could be the start of a beautiful friendship.

It’s one of the more frustrating feelings for a sports fan. You’re trapped underground, glaring at your mobile phone as it fails to ascertain that salient score. Even when above ground, the phone screen does no justice to that key play tipping your blood pressure in a positive or negative direction.

New York City’s Metropolitan Transit Authority has formulated a solid distraction, partnering up with TBS to air highlights of the previous day’s major league playoff games. The AP reports that the clips will be piloted this October on the city’s shuttle between Times Square and Grand Central Station. While the plan is currently limited to past action, just ponder the future notion of live game coverage on train cars.

For those with no affinity to baseball whatsoever, rest assured. A) It’s just another nuisance added to the hundreds already contributing to the Big Apple subway circus. B) The ad revenue from TBS can only help quell the talk of fare hikes.
