Bars near the University of Illinois have found a high-tech way to keep students safe.
A few bars near the area have purchased breathalyzers for customers to use. For $1, patrons can breathe into the device, which then measures one’s blood alcohol content (BAC), according to The Daily Illini.

Bar owners do not collaborate with police when it comes to breathalyzers; instead, they say it shows they care about their customers’ health and wish to communicate with them about it. Two students at the University of Wisconsin want the same in their town.

Not everyone is happy, though — some students fear that people might use the breathalyzers as a drinking game, seeing who can get the highest BAC. Which would defeat the purpose of the breathalyzer, and create even more alcohol dangers in college.
