Silly Bandz: The New Way to Flirt?

Forget buying a girl a drink — to really win her heart, just slip her a rubber-band bracelet.

According to the New York Daily News, some grown-ups are latching onto the Silly Bandz trend (which is banned from some classrooms) to flirt in bars.

“I went on a date with a girl. She gave me one,” one New Yorker said. “Two days later, another girl gave me another Silly Band. I felt important.”

Singles say it’s a cute, no-strings-attached way to show interest in a potential paramour. But NewsFeed think it’s a little immature. Who wants to date someone who thinks a cheap packet of rubber bands makes a good accessory?  And what’s next: singles bringing their Pokemon card collection to clubs?
