Too bad it’s just a reference guide.

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has announced plans to introduce yet another book into the Twilight canon. The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide, slated to hit bookstores on April 12, 2011, is a reference guide that offers “character profiles, outtakes, a conversation with Meyer, genealogical charts, maps, extensive cross-references, and much more,” according to EW.com. The book, which will also include art from Twilight: The Graphic Novel, will likely fill the gap between Hollywood’s film adaptations of Meyer’s stories nicely, seeing as part one of Breaking Dawn won’t hit theaters until November of 2011.

“I’m always amazed at how many in-depth questions my readers have about my characters and the world within the Twilight Saga” Meyer said in a statement about her decision to release the book. “With The Official Illustrated Guide, I hoped we could incorporate as many details as possible, including character histories, like Alice’s back story.”
