Jersey Boys Heading from Stage to Screen

Oh, what a night — when audiences can catch the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons without forking over big bucks on Broadway.

According to Deadline Hollywood, GK Films grabbed the film rights to the Broadway smash hit, which follows the story of iconic 1960s group Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, who were behind hits like “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” Movie musicals can be hit or miss at the box office, but the people behind the film must be hoping to piggyback from the success of Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia! Several other stage hits, like Wicked and Green Day’s American Idiot, are being prepped for Hollywood as well.

This is just another example of how basically everything in pop culture today has come from New Jersey. Worst-case scenario: the movie will star The Situation, DJ Pauly D, Vinnie and Ronnie as The Four Seasons.
