A gum that tastes like a meal? It could happen.
Researchers at the Food Institute in Norwich, England say they’ve created a gum that could rival Wonka’s creation in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Their technology allows different flavors to be contained in microcapsules, which could release different flavors at different times. Different courses would be contained in different capsules; later courses would be contained in capsules that required lots of chewing to release.

Originally they were created to release drugs to the body at different times, but now they could make chewing gum into a full meal. Let’s just hope they don’t turn test subjects into blueberries, like Violet Beauregarde. (via Telegraph)
