The Empire State Building is barely visible on the skyline of New York as a sudden hail storm hits Hoboken, New Jersey.
NewsFeed has bad news, good news, and more bad news for people who live on the Atlantic coast.
The bad news is there is a nor’easter storm headed for the region that is expected to bring severe wind and rain and in some cases, snow.
The good news is that it probably won’t kill you. The bad news is that it probably will kill your weekend.
Accuweather.com says the storm will bring heavy winds that can knock down trees and power lines and reach gusts of 50 mph. Flooding, particularly in Boston and other parts of New England and travel disruptions are not out of the question, either. Wet snow in parts of the Appalachians are also a possibility. Already, as a preview, New York City was pummeled with hail Monday night.
The interesting thing to learn is that as hurricane season begins to draw to a close, nor’easter season is just getting under way. The last one we had was the “Snowpocalypse” that hit last March which basically shut down Washington, D.C. This time around, though, a blizzard isn’t expected. (But stranger things have happened.)
