One day, of course, this kind of news won’t even warrant a story. (Via BBC)

But that day is not here yet. Israel’s version of Dancing With The Stars is to feature the program’s first ever same-sex couple. TV presenter Gili Shem Tov (who has a female partner) is to dance alongside professional Dorit Milman (who is heterosexual) on the sixth season starting next month. (See more on NewsFeed about DWTS)

In case you were wondering, they’ll take it in turns when it comes to the traditional male role of taking the lead. “The challenge to dance with a woman in a public contest interested me because it’s unique and has never been done before,” said Tov, adding, “because I share my life with a woman and have a family with her, to me this is the most natural thing to do.” (See a brief history of gay-rights.)

The show is called Rokdim Im Kokhavim in Israel (or for the show-offs among you, רוקדים עם כוכבים). But talk about burying the lede: NewsFeed also learns that Pamela Anderson is to make two guest appearances, where she will not only comment on the dancing but perform her own routine. Israel will never be the same again. L’chaim!
