Believe it or not, there was a time when the good life, didn’t seem so good for the notorious Kanye West.

West, 33, admitted to audience members at a screening of his new short film Runaway in L.A., that he considered taking his own life several times in the past.

Refusing to specify exactly when, or for what reason he struggled with his inner demons, Kanye told the audience “I will not give up on life again. ”  The rapper then went on to modestly describe himself as a “pop icon” and a “soldier of culture.” (Find out more about the icon at Kanye West And His Magical, Unstoppable Twitter Feed)

In other Kanye news, perhaps in an attempt to forget about his contemplative past , the rapper seems to have taken his term “diamonds are forever,” all too literally. During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kanye said he has replaced his bottom row of teeth with diamonds because he thought “diamonds were cooler.”

West has also admitted that after a “long hard year” he has found his “creative sweet spot” by “(thinking like) a five-year-old at all times.”
