In the wake of reports that it was the alcoholic, caffeinated drink Four Loko that caused a group of Washington college students to fall ill, Michigan has chosen to ban the drink.

Though it’s the first state to ban the drink, universities and politicians around the country have been making moves towards ridding themselves of the drink known as a “blackout in a can.”

Unsurprisingly, the makers of Four Loko, Phusion Projects, have said that they will challenge the ban and that their products are safe.

Four Loko shouldn’t take the ban too personally, however. Michigan is also banning 54 other products. (via the Chicago Tribune)
