From Lady Gaga modules to Tae Kwon Do degrees, NewsFeed thought there was an education to suit every niche, until McDonald’s put a degree on their menu. Beware, what you’re about to digest is all about the puns.

A Big Mac of a degree course, which will be accredited by Manchester Metropolitan University in England, offers bosses currently employed by the fast food retailer the opportunity to beef up their resumes with a qualification in Business Management. The burger chain aims to fire up its education program (which started with apprenticeships and trainee schemes) to improve the staff’s image and will, according to senior vice-president David Fairhurst, challenge, “The old ‘McJob’ label,” which was, “lazy and snobbish.”

To add the extra bacon to the jobs burger, McDonald’s want to appeal to a jobs market by sandwiching together work and education. Instead of being all about small fries, the company intend to invest in their employees to give them the opportunity to become the big cheese.

McDonald’s has undergone a massive re-marketing campaign in the U.K. over the last decade to revamp its image and this new education program could well be the icing on the McMuffin. (via BBC)
