Welp, that was a quick change of tide.
On Monday, Fiji Water, makers of the high-end square plastic water bottles sold worldwide, announced they were shutting their doors and leaving their namesake country, thanks to a proposed tax hike by the South Pacific island nation’s ruling junta.

All factory workers were immediately shuttled off the premises. Some stood in shocked silence, while others openly wept, according to the Fiji Times.
Less than 48 hours later, however, the company announced it will re-open its factory at 8 a.m. on Wednesday and pony up the money to pay Fiji’s new water extraction tax of 8 cents per liter.
