Shocker: We’re probably going to say the same words in 2011 as we did this year.

Because the Internet cannot be satisfied with lists simply about 2010, the Global Language Monitor has predicted 2011’s top buzzwords. The top one? An agreement on how to pronounce the year itself – twenty-eleven. Here are the rest of the top five.

(See the top 10 buzzwords of 2009.)

  1. Twenty-Eleven
  2. Obama-Mess
  3. Great Recession
  4. Palinism
  5. TwitFlocker (a placeholder for the next big thing in social media)

(See the top 10 financial-crisis buzzwords.)

‘Palinism’ is an old-news term by now, but the Global Language Monitor predicts it will see a resurgence if Sarah Palin runs for president. But no matter the Republican nominee, the country will be watching to see if the President can get out of his “Obama-mess.” And they’ll probably be TwitFlocking about it all. (via Reuters)
