For ‘Monster,’ Jackson teams with rapper 50 Cent to vent about the perils of celebrity and the weight of expectation.

“Everywhere you turn a monster/ When you look up into the air there’s a monster/ Paparazzi got you scared like a monster,” he sings.

There’s not much sunshine here.

“Why are they never satisfied with and all you give, yeh, yeh, yeh, yeah/ You gave them your all/ They’re watching you fall/ And they eat your soul like a vegetable.”

With ‘I Like (The Way You Love Me),’ Jackson returns to romantic schmaltz.

“The world’s a better place/ ’cause you came in time/ You took away the rain and brought the sunshine/ I was afraid ’cause I was hurt the last time/ Uuuuuuuuuuh Ahhhhhhhh.”

Eddie Cascio, Jackson’s long-time friend and producer, rejects criticism that Jackson would disapprove of Sony releasing his unfinished songs, and denies allegations that the vocals don’t belong to Jackson.

“I think Michael would be very excited right now, that the music he was making for his fans, they were finally getting a chance to hear it,” he said, according to the Toronto Sun.

“I can tell you that it is Michael’s voice. He recorded right there in my basement. It was a home studio and we worked. I was there pushing the buttons, he was there directing. That’s Michael Jackson.”

“Michael made it for his fans, he recorded for his fans and they deserve for it to come out.”
