Where do you stand when it comes to actress/singer Zooey Deschanel? For many of us, it’s either “really twee” or “the most twee person ever.” In which case, news of a parody program is sure to bring a smile to our jaded lips.

To be fair, you can’t say she didn’t have this coming. Deschanel’s sickly sweet approach to her craft — either when singing with M. Ward as part of She & Him or starring in the likes of Almost Famous, All the Real Girls and (500) Days of Summer — has polarized taste-makers everywhere. For everyone who finds her aww, someone finds her aaargh!

(See TIME’s review of (500) Days of Summer.)

And lo it came to pass that Ms. Deschanel was ripe for the YouTube taking as this parody proves. Contained within are “Zooey’s” reflections on topics such as her favorite memories from her movies (“the one indie movie where I got to sing a song”), lines she’s known for delivering (“Look out! He’s got a baby! And a gun!”), the film that got her career going (“When I was in it, I was almost famous. Get it?”) and her personal preferences (“I love muffins!”). And not for nothing do the all too brief credits include “Sandwicher” because if anyone requires that kind of food, it’s La Deschanel.

NewsFeed trusts that the real Deschanel will not be irked and go with the trusty, “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” approach that serves us so well in this thing called life. Indeed, NewsFeed imagines that she’s watching the episode back right now in her achingly cool outfit, inside her hipster apartment, mouthing the following words to her shiny laptop: “I forgive you, Internet.”
