The King’s Speech, starring Colin Firth as the stuttering George VI, reigned over this year’s Golden Globe nominations with seven nods.

The Social Network and The Fighter took second with six nominations, while Black Swan, Inception and The Kids Are All Right took four nods each.

With so many nominees, there were few major surprises. But nominations for the critically-panned Burlesque and The Tourist shows the Hollywood Foreign Press’s love for movie stars and lack of pop-culture modernity.

A pleasant surprise came in the form of Inception‘s slew of nominations. In 2008, the Globes snubbed director Christopher Nolan for The Dark Knight, in a move that sent fans into a frenzy. That year, only Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker was nominated. Two years later, though, voters changed their tune, giving Nolan nominations for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Picture and Best Original Score. (When your score invites the Internet to create a big red button to replay the drama, you deserve a gold statue.)

The Golden Globes will air on NBC on Sunday, January 16 at 8 p.m. EST. View the major nominees below. (via EW)
