Holiday Weekend Roundup: Storms and Strife, But Hef’s Getting Hitched

Surprisingly, more than mass turkey consumption took place this weekend.

Massive Storms Batters NorthEast – Now this probably isn’t news to anyone who traveled in or around the NorthEast this weekend, but blizzards and storms raged across the area leaving hundreds of flights canceled. (Associated Press)

Bombs, Battles and Blasts – This weekend saw a number of fatal bombings. Nigeria faced attacks that have killed dozens of people and a woman suicide bomber in Pakistan killed more than 40 people.   This weekend also saw stirrings of what could be a civil war in the Ivory Coast. (BBC/ Reuters/ BBC)

Never-ending Body Scans – As if weather delays weren’t making travel hard enough, TSA is announcing that not only are body scanners here to stay, but they’ll also be adding even more scanners to airports. (Washington Post)

Hef’s Getting HitchedPlayboy founder Hugh Hefner announced via Twitter that he had proposed to his girlfriend, Crystal Harris on Christmas Eve. The 60 year age difference between Hef and his 24-year-old love doesn’t appear to bother either of them. (NewsFeed)
