As the saying nearly goes about a significant relationship age gap: when he’s 120, she’ll only be 92.

Proof that romance isn’t dead, it was merely resting (for at least 16 hours a day) reaches us from the far-flung climes of Malaysia. Ahmad Mohamad Isa, a sprightly 110-year-old, who has 20 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren, told Malay-language newspaper Utusan Malaysia that he is looking for his sixth wife after declaring that he was ready to marry again. Luckily for him, the 82-year-old Sanah Ahmad was reading. The widow of 30 years and mother of nine was willing to take the plunge and asked her children to contact Ahmad’s family to make the necessary arrangements.

“It doesn’t matter who she is, as long as she can cook for me,” Ahmad told the paper, risking the wrath of a readership who may accuse him of old-fashioned sexism. He went on to express his happiness and surprise at Sanah’s acceptance, with his daughter discussing the details with his bride-to-be’s family.

“It is lonely to live alone and I am afraid to sleep alone. If I have a wife she can take care of me,” he had said in an earlier interview. Ahmad, who suffers from mild hearing and vision problems, became an attractive option to Sanah as she confessed that he bears a striking resemblance to her late husband and they both share the same name. Expect their blossoming relationship to take in the gazing of sunsets, plenty of nostalgia, the holding of hands and walks. Very. Slow. Walks. (via Herald Sun)
