Michael Douglas, Cancer Survivor: ‘The Tumor is Gone’

The actor taped an interview with Matt Lauer for Tuesday’s Today Show and he announced the great news–“The tumor is gone.”

Douglas, 66,  announced he was battling throat cancer about five months ago and since then his health status has continuously been a headline-making story.

He’s been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation to treat his illness and now it appears that he’s conquered cancer–though he’ll still be diligent about monitoring his health to maintain a cancer-free status.

“I think the odds are with the tumor gone,” Douglas said, “and what I know about this particular type of cancer [is] that I’ve got it beat.”  (via People)
