Leave the lavish weddings to British royalty. The new trend in matrimony is a viral video-ready flash mob.

That’s how John and Caroline Kleiman of Needham, Mass. exchanged their vows. Guests, dressed like typical mall shoppers, broke out into a rehearsed song-and-dance number to “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” in the middle of Boston’s Prudential Center before the couple walked down a makeshift aisle.

The whole shebang was recession-friendly. The bride’s dress cost $36, she did her own hair and makeup, and the reception was held at a nearby hotel and only cost around $3,000. The couple, who met while working in Rwanda, wouldn’t have it any other way. “My clothes, the hair, the makeup,” Caroline said, “It wasn’t important to me.”

But if they really wanted to scale down, they could have just done the wedding toasts at the Orange Julius and cut a Mrs. Fields wedding cake. (Boston Herald, via Jezebel)
