Now that astronomers at the Minnesota Planetarium Society have redefined the zodiac calendar, former Sagittarians and Capricorns born between Nov. 29 and Dec. 17 are buzzing about the unknown implications of their new sign.

Whether or not you’re part of the 31% of Americans who believe in the astrological signs, who doesn’t get a kick out of comparing their personality to their alleged horoscope traits?

(More on TIME.com: See your new horoscope.)

Alas, NewsFeed has consulted our, um, star readers, to answer some must-know questions about the 13th sign. Astrology believers … behold! Doubters … aren’t you just a little curious:

The constellation Ophiuchus represents a man wrestling a serpent, dividing the snake’s body in two parts.  It is the only sign of the zodiac linked to real men, sharing traits with Imhotep, a 27th century BCE Egyptian doctor, and biblical Joseph.

Like Imhotep, Ophiuchus is considered a healer of men and a doctor of medicine or science. He seeks higher education and enlightenment. He is expected to achieve a high position in life.

(More on TIME.com: Read about the Chinese zodiac.)

Like Joseph, he is an interpreter of dreams and vivid premonitions. He is envied by his peers and favored by his father and authority figures.

The Asclepius and the Caduceus, the medical staff, are based on the constellation.

Now all you new Ophiciuchi can move beyond your identity crises.

iam born 29 august. and for many years i was confused about being the virgo, because all my life i have been naturly good at all sport, iam ideal, leader type, creativ, but also a perfetcionist, and details!... i have allways been more like the leo even that i have a little from the virgo. but now everything makes sens! not because iam a naive dump fool....  i know religion, politics, history, evolution/science, revolution, prophecys is connected somehow! and iam not naive fool who believe anything people tell me. all have different personallity. but the horoscope/zodiac is something devine we cant understand yet. and people have for 1000s of years studiet the stars!

i see my self as a virgo that evolved to a lion... and believe that ther is a reason for everything that is happening!

maybe it was ment to be that i will start out as a virgo and evolve to a leo. an epic hybrid! :P

So, I was born on Dec. 17. The questions I'm asking my self is, if I'm a Sagittarius or Ophiuchus? Other question how do you pronounce "Ophiuchus" anyways?

Also what are the senses & news for it.

I'm Capricorn... January 9th. This is BS. Zodiac signs derived from a GEOCENTRIC point of view. Not this bull crap. I'm confused by the justification: Are Capricorn's allegedly Sagittarians now, or not?

Im so confused by this article? IM a Capricorn Jan 8 but they only give the date for a Sagitarrius but they said both signs? So are there only 11 signs now as well?

This sounds like a load of bull created by and for the 21st century man to have his place in the stars...don't you have enough history already in place to call your own...leave the stars and astronomy alone!!! I see now man will stop at nothing to change history to their OWN advange! I not only refused to accept this but I will first and FOREVERMORE always remain a TRUE (GEMINI) by BODY, HEART, MIND and SPIRIT MAY 22 !!!!!!!!

Stand strong don't forget who you are...just because a man/woman wrote a paper don't let it ruin your world...this is a joke....you're still the horscope you were the day you were born...

@TashekiaStephens Actually, if you have done your research correctly, Ophiuchus was always a constellation in the stars.  The astronomers left it out because you can't split 365 days into 13 parts.

Is that like a capritarius or completely different animal?
