After shooting to instant fame when a video of his “golden voice” went viral last week on YouTube, Ted Williams has decided to enter rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.

Williams will enter a private rehabilitation facility following a counseling session that will air Thursday on the Dr. Phil Show.

Williams’ family reported strange behavior, including a physical incident with one of his daughters in a Los Angeles hotel Monday that led to police detention.

Despite Williams’ self-proclaimed two years of sobriety, his family reports that he has been drinking daily.

“If Ted is ever going to get better, he’s got to be honest with himself and admit he’s addicted to drugs and alcohol,” said Dr. Phil.  “I’ve told him it’s not going to be easy and it’s going to take a lot of hard work.  It might be a long journey for him, but this is a big step in the right direction.”

NewsFeed surely hopes we have not heard the last of his “golden voice.” (via People)
