The U.S. seems to have been taken over by the Chinese government with a massive ad splattered right in the middle of Times Square. (via Shanghaiist)

The ads started this week with a 60-second video featuring 50 prominent Chinese business figures and celebrities. Yes, Yao Ming and Jackie Chan make an appearance. Entitled “Experience China,” it’s a step right out of the Communist government’s playbook more likely to be seen halfway around the world than urban Manhattan.

It’s not a coincidence that the ad just so happens to be timed with Hu Jintao’s visit and at a critical juncture between U.S. and China relations.

With hot-button issues such as the currency exchange rate, human rights, and North Korea, it’s an anticipated visit sure to determine the tone of future relations between both countries.
