If all bad things come in threes, NewsFeed wonders what the next drama will be stemming from this year’s Australian Open. First Venus Williams shows off her lastest fashion faux pas, and now Kim Clijsters chides an Australian television presenter on live TV over a pregnancy rumor.

After Kim Clijsters’ straight-sets win Thursday over Carla Suarez Navarro, the Belgian was interviewed by presenter Todd Woodbridge, a former tennis champion himself. Clijsters didn’t waste any time and confronted Woodbridge over a text message he’d sent to a fellow player last week. “I saw a text you sent [Australian tennis player] Rennae Stubbs,” Clijsters said. “You said you thought I was pregnant!” The embarrassed Woodbridge retorted bluntly: “I guess I have to ask, are you?”

Clijsters confirmed she was not expecting, before adding that Woodbridge also had texted that she seemed “really grumpy and her boobs were bigger.” Laughing along with the crowd, Clijsters put her arm around an embarrassed Woodbridge, who joked that his television career was now over. Good thing the pair are friends! But will they stay that way?

Clijsters has already quit tennis once to get married and have a child, only to return after two-and-a-half years and win the 2009 U.S. Open. She comes into the Australian Open after capturing the U.S. Open again last year and is favored to win thanks to Serena Williams sitting out with injury.

Gentlemen, here’s a bit of advice: If you’re going to ask or comment about a lady’s pregnancy status, never put it in writing. (via Telegraph UK)
