It’s always an honor to be recognized for your work. Right?

The studios behind the Twilight franchise and M. Night Shyamalan’s latest creative vision might beg to differ after leading the way in the Razzies, the annual award show that hands out gongs to the worst movies of the year. And the Twilight Saga: Eclipse and The Last Airbender tied for the most nominations Monday with nine each, including worst picture.

Joining them for the least wanted win were Jennifer Aniston’s comedy vehicle, The Bounty Hunter, Sarah Jessica Parker and her pals in Sex and the City 2 and the Twilight parody Vampires Suck. (Perhaps the Twilight folks will console themselves that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.)

But back to the original and Twilight‘s dreamy stars of Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart all received worst actor/actress nods while Airbender‘s Shyamalan received Razzie noms for worst director and screenplay. The director seems on a downward trajectory which is going to be hard to shake, as critics have pretty much savaged everything he’s helmed since his debut offerings, The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable.

Otherwise, the likes of Burlesque, Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore, Clash of the Titans, Jonah Hex and Valentine’s Day all came in for recognition (if that’s the right word). The “winners” will be announced on Feb. 26, which is the night before the Oscars. And the Razzies enjoys stealing the Academy’s thunder because Oscar is yet to make its own announcements and won’t do so until tomorrow. All we can state with some certainty is that most of these movies won’t be appearing on both lists.
