Coming soon: another reason why Europeans look down on Americans.

You can take the cast out of Jersey, but you can’t take the Jersey out of the cast.

Jersey Shore‘s executives will be scouting locations in Italy to shoot the show’s fourth season. They’ve already reached out to Italian relatives of cast member Vinny Guadagnino to arrange an authentic Italian dinner. Choosing Italy makes a lot of sense — it would avoid the paparazzi attention that plagued the cast in the show’s second and third seasons. Plus, it would be instantly entertaining to see the housemates hit clubs in Rome and Florence, interacting with actual Italians instead of their fellow Italian-Americans.

Chris Linn, MTV’s executive vice president of programming, said in a statement, “Europe is a fresh spin on a show that continues to reach new heights for us. The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by. We can’t wait to see what erupts as a result.”

Naturally, none of this can happen if Italy blocks the infamously-rowdy cast from entering the country. MTV has been working on their visas for the past two months. Let’s hope it works — seeing Vinny in Venice would be so much better than another snoozeworthy Miami season. (via EW)
