And the Oscar for best first Oscars promo goes to…

Opinion seems somewhat divided over whether the actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway were good choices for this year’s Academy awards. Those in the “For” camp will maintain that keeping the ceremony youthful and vibrant will not only make it a better watch but pull in the crucial 18-35 demographic. But those who are “Against” no doubt yearn for a return to a single host (such as a Billy Crystal or Bob Hope-esque personality. But probably not Ricky Gervais).

But will this year’s pair sway the naysayers with their first promo ahead of the big night on February 27? Watch for yourself and make your own mind up but what could be wrong with the quick duration (may the actual show be as succinct!), the Rocky soundtrack playing in the background and a couple of visual gags, including a near Hathaway wardrobe malfunction disaster!
